T20 Blast - Lancashire v Glamorgan

T20 Blast - Lancashire v Glamorgan

Lancashire welcome Glamorgan in the first of the T20 blast Quarter Finals at Old Trafford. Having won an impressive 10 out of 14 matches which saw the Red Rose outfit secure the top spot in the North Group they will enter this tie in buoyant mood knowing that the Welsh side only managed to qualify in fourth position in the South Group. Charismatic Ex-England all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff had came out of retirement specifically for this competition and his involvement has seen him and his Lancashire team-mates lose only 2 games in the competition this summer which is less than any other county.

Rubin Kazan v Spartak Moscow

Rubin Kazan v Spartak Moscow

Rubin Kazan will not be looking back on last season for any inspiration moving forward. With several new signings, none of ground-breaking talents however, the team will be aiming for a European finish this time round. Spartak have had a change of manager over the summer and such has been the uncertainty at the helm that few transfers have been confirmed, so the new Coach, Murat Yakin will be looking to try and get the best out of the previous group. Kazan have made attacking purchases this Summer, so look to an attacking set-up from them from the off.

WGC Bridgestone Invitational

WGC Bridgestone Invitational

Low scores were always going to be the order for the day on day one as the course and players all looked in fine form. Patrick Reed did no harm to his intended push for a Ryder Cup spot with a three-under 67, however nobody could get near to the perfection that was being displayed by Marc Leishamn who finished with a six-under 64 to top the leaderboard out on his own, one shot ahead of Englishman Justin Rose, South African Schwatzel and another Ryder Cup hopeful, Ryan Moore. The rest of the top ten down to 2 under features Ricky Fowler, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia .

The Emirates Cup

The Emirates Cup

Arsenal begin their Emirates Cup hosting duties by taking on Benfica, who are present in the tournament for the first time. Arsenal have already had two low key pre-season warm-up matches so this small competition will get them ready for a higher gear workout in preparation for the upcoming FA Community Shield against Premier League champions Manchester City next week. To enhance the attacking nature of the game as a whole, each team in the tournament are awarded one point for every goal they score, with an even greater twist occurring if the teams become tied on Points and Goal Difference, "Shots on target" is used to decide the winner! Goalkeepers, Beware!
