Royal Ascot 2013: The Royal Ascot this year will feature prize-money of £5m. The name on everybody’s lips going into the Royal meeting is not a British horse nor is it an Irish horse. Rather it is the transatlantic star that is Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom has won a Kentucky Derby and a Dubai World Cup. BMW International Open: After Justin Rose's historic US Open triumph, the European Tour heads to Germany this week for the BMW International Open. The BMW International Open is traditionally one of the most popular events on the European Tour schedule, and the strength of field this year reflects that. The likes of Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Matteo Manassero and Paul Casey have all made the trip from Merion Golf Club to take part. Long hitters & sound putters should be considered this week.

Travelers Championship: The PGA Tour heads to Connecticut this week for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands. A number of participants in last week's US Open have made the short trip from Merion Golf Club to compete. They include new US Open champion Justin Rose, Hunter Mahan, Rickie Fowler, Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson and Jason Dufner. This is one of the shortest courses on the PGA Tour roster. At just 6,841 yards, it should offer up a significant number of birdies.

ICC Trophy - India v Sri Lanka: Unbeaten so far, a confident India are up against a massive challenge when they take on sub-continental rivals Sri Lanka, a team on the ascendancy after a slow start. While India were the first team to make the last four from the tournament`s Group of Death with an all-win record, Sri Lanka grabbed the last semifinal berth on Tuesday after warding off a late challenge from Australia. India have scored over 300 runs three times in five matches, twice batting first.
