Atl Madrid v Elche

Atl Madrid v Elche

It does not get any easier for Elche in their fight for survival. Last week they had to travel to the Mestalla and despite putting up a good fight, they came away empty-handed. The Vicente Calderon is one of the hardest grounds to travel to and with Atlético getting ever closer to their first title since 1996, their trip to the capital is a case of bad timing and they are likely to again come away with nothing. Atlético Madrid are marching towards the title and are strong favourites to continue against Elche. Diego Simeone is to go with his favoured 4-4-2, which will see in-form strikers Diego Costa and David Villa partner up. While the loss of Arda Turan is significant, Raul Garcia is a competent replacement and his slightly more physical approach will benefit the home side in a game where the visitors will be aggressive.

Doncaster v Derby

Doncaster v Derby

Doncaster's three defeats in a row has dragged them right back into the mix for the relegation places. Rovers do tend to perform better against the top sides but will need a result here to ease the pressure. Derby need to win to keep their faint hopes of automatic promotion alive, but form going into the playoffs is the main thing now. The Rams have won just one of their last five games on the road.

Tottenham v Fulham

Tottenham v Fulham

Tottenham's season is as good as over after last week's 3-3 draw at West Brom meant they have thrown away their Champions League hopes, and there are questions as to whether they are still keen to fight for a Europa League spot. Fulham have it all to play for, still in the bottom 3 but only 2 points from safety and having won their last 2 games. Fulham won this fixture last season but otherwise don't have a great record at White Hart Lane. A win might be unlikely but they could catch Tottenham short and take a point from the game.

Newcastle v Swansea

Newcastle v Swansea

Newcastle have been absolutely abysmal of late, and are looking exactly as if they have nothing left to play for this season. They have failed to score in their last 4 matches, losing on each occasion. Swansea, meanwhile, are far from safe. They are only 3 points above the relegation zone and need to take points from games like this one, which is wholly winnable against a team as out of sorts as Newcastle. Neither side has been on good form of late, but Swansea are desperate for points and Newcastle may again play sluggishly. The Swans could take a vital 3 points back to Wales.
