The Chinese Grand Prix

The Chinese Grand Prix

The 5.451km circuit is located 35km northeast of Shanghai and first featured on the F1 calendar in 2004, with the race won by Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello. Six of the this year's field have won in Shanghai, with Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's 2013 winner Fernando Alonso looking to win for a third time this weekend. Nico Rosberg's second place in Bahrain means he retains the lead in the drivers' championship, albeit with a reduced gap back to second-placed Lewis Hamilton. The two Mercedes cars have dominated F1 so far this year. Can they add to their tally, or will someone else record a shock win?

ATP Monte Carlo - Tsonga v Fognini

ATP Monte Carlo - Tsonga v Fognini

Fourth seed Roger Federer is through to the quarter-final round in Monte Carlo, yet he did have to recover from a slow start and a 1-3 deficit against Lukas Rosol, before ultimately snatching the victory 6-4, 6-1. While celebrating his birthday on Wednesday afternoon, French No. 2 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga rallied for a three set victory over the emotional Italian No. 1 Fabio Fognini to set up a quarter-final clash with the 17-time Grand Slam champion. This marks the 15th time these two competitors will meet on the professional tour, with Federer leading the series 10-4. They are 2-2 in their last four meetings, and 1-1 on clay courts, with Tsonga earning the most recent win on the red dust at last year’s French Open.

ATP Monte Carlo - Lopez v Djokovic

ATP Monte Carlo - Lopez v Djokovic

The Serbian star’s second match was one which featured a equally dominant display as his opening match, as he breezed past lucky loser Pablo Carreno Busta 6-0, 6-1 in 47 minutes to reach the quarter-finals of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. World No. 38 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez rallied from a set down to upset world No. 5 Tomas Berdych 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a little over two hours of court time. It was the Spaniard’s eighth win in a row, as he had won his third ATP World Tour title last week in Casablanca when he defeated Granollers in the final. This marks the sixth time these two competitors will meet on the professional tour, with Djokovic holding an unbeaten 5-0 streak against the Spaniard.

Charlton v Bolton

Charlton v Bolton

Charlton missed a huge chance to pull clear of the drop zone in midweek by losing one of their games in hand at home to lowly Barnsley. That result didn't just frustrate the Addicks but pulled Barnsley to within two points of the South London club. Bolton are unbeaten in six games and have found some good form in the second half of the season. The Trotters have won three and drawn three of their last six away games too, making them favourites here.
